We have two Domestic Installer packages at Able Skills that provide you with the skills and qualifications to complete domestic electrical work in peoples homes and a knowledge of the Part P of the building regulations.

The two packages start with a 10 day basic domestic electrics course, where you will learn the basics to domestic electrical installations and house wiring.

Both packages will then move onto the 17th Edition qualification which is a three day course with a two hour multiple choice exam on the final day.

Then, in the same week, you will complete a two day PAT Testing course that has an online exam on the final day.

Also, the two packages also include the five day EAL Initial Verification course. This courses provides our students with the skills they need to undertake initial verification and commissioning. This Level 3 award will give the students a chance to develop and enhance the skills they have in inspection and testing of single and three phase low voltage installations.

The second package also includes the Level 2 Inspection & Testing course, this qualification has been developed in with the electrical industry in order to meet the needs of less experienced electricians, or the new entrants who need to develop their inspection and testing skills as they enter the electrical industry. This course was seen as a stepping stone for individuals looking to move on to level 3 Inspection and Testing qualifications.

Part P is a part of the building regulations which relates to the electrical safety in peoples homes. This is purely for domestic installers that complete electrical work in peoples homes. All the electrical carried out in people's homes needs to comply with Part P.
