An official Electrical Safety Register has been launched by the Electrical Safety Council (ESC) and Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA), to help people find the services of a competent and experienced electrical contractor.

The register features both domestic and commercial contractors and brings together people certified under the respected NICEIC, ELECSA and ECA – whose 33,000 contractors carry out some 80 per cent of all domestic electrical tasks in the UK.

The chairman of the ESC, Charles Tanswell, said the register will work to benefit both the people seeking an electrician and the electricians themselves.

He explained, “For the consumer it means more can be done to raise awareness of the benefits of using registered electricians and we’re delighted that this partnership ensures solid industry support for the charity and its work.” ?
