Those searching for plumbing training courses on the internet might be intrigued to read that a joint scheme between United Utilities and National Grid to deliver water and gas improvements to Ellesmere Port is reported to be progressing well.

Contractor Balfour Beatty is working in partnership with the two companies and they have almost completed the first section of work, which they claim to be the most difficult part.

Project manager Dan Smith said that the firms have laid nearly 20 per cent of the pipelines for the water and gas supplies and that the reinstatement of the first section is "well under way".

"We are pleased to say that we have had a warm welcome from locals in the area and we're making every effort to continue to communicate our progress to them," he stated.

This news comes after the managing director of Pimlico Plumbers, Charlie Mullins, recently urged people to consider the plumbing trade.
