Now...normally we would be talking about qualified plumbers looking to add Gas to their skillset via our Qualified Plumber Gas Training Packages, however, if you are a qualified working Gas engineer looking to get into plumbing as well - then we are here to help! The two trades go hand in hand and are easy for a person to learn if mastered in the other. The two trades use the same methods, tools and systems, for example, they both work on heating systems and involve the use of pipes.
Plumbing Courses at Able Skills
As you are already an experienced Gas engineer we will not recommend that you being with our Introduction to Plumbing Course as you may already have the skills to begin a more full-time course - therefore can jump straight onto our City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing Course. This course is 6-weeks in total and will give you all of the knowledge and experience that you need to begin work in this trade - there are so many opportunities when picking up this trade as an already established Gas engineer including the ability to work both trades in conjunction on a self-employed basis!
Do I need an NVQ?
An NVQ is a great thing to have under your belt and will act as a seal of approval that you can carry out work of this type effectively, consistently and correctly. At Able Skills, we have tailor-made courses to help you achieve this - NVQ Level 2 Plumbing Assessments. An NVQ is a necessity when looking to work on-site and is a requirement in most environments across the UK.
