Geothermal International has claimed that the government has shown its commitment to green power with its latest scheme, which may inspire tradesmen to undertake renewable energy courses and other training.

Commenting on the launch of the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) programme, marketing director at the firm Patrick Sherriff described how heat pumps looks set to play a key role in the delivery of sustainable electricity solutions.

"By committing to the RHI the government has given a very welcome green light to businesses to move away from traditional carbon-hungry forms of heating," said Mr Sherriff.

His remarks may persuade some technicians to take renewable energy courses, so they are ready to install and maintain devices as consumer take-up rises.

Geothermal International said it is delighted with the RHI scheme.

The initiative was announced on March 10th 2011 and offers people the chance to receive financial support for installing a variety of sustainable energy generators.
