The number of house-building projects requiring tradesmen with electrical course qualifications could be set to rise in Cheshire, following comments made by a representative from the local authority.

Cheshire West & Chester Council has indicated that it intends to revisit its Green Belt restrictions in order to find areas to build up to 20,000 homes over the next 15 years, reported Place North West.

This figure was included in the organisation's core strategy document, which executive member for prosperity Councillor Herbert Manley described as being a "key" text for everyone who lives and works in the region.

He said further research and testing will be carried out, telling the news provider: "We are extremely grateful to everyone who gave us their thoughts on which direction they believe future growth in the borough should take."

Another north-west development that may soon be hiring technicians is the new Altrincham General Hospital, which is set to be delivered for Trafford NHS Trust by Citybranch.
