A young plasterer from Harrogate has been named the best building apprentice in Yorkshire and Trent by the Federation of Master Builder’s (FMB) Master Builder and Apprentice of the Year Awards, after demonstrating exemplary plastering skills.

Adrian Wintersgill is currently working on the Prince’s Foundation Apprenticeship programme, having completed practical plastering courses at a local collage.

Adrian was recognised as being thoroughly dedicated to producing work of the highest quality and professionalism. He has already set up his own business – Ornate Mouldings Ltd – and is hoping that his dedication will help him when it comes to competing for the FMB’s Apprentice of the Year award, which will be handed out in London in March.

Yorkshire and Trent FMB representative, Phi Parkinson, told the Harrogate News: “Adrian is an outstanding example of an apprentice showing commitment, dedication and determination to carve a career in this important industry, and we wish him the best of luck in the national final.”

His plastering tutor, Michael Glossop, said that Adrian’s work ethic is just what the industry needs: “Adrian’s willingness to succeed is an inspiration to all students. He is extremely talented and these award wins prove he is one of the best in his field.”
