home study electrical coursesThe perfect starting point when becoming an Electrician is the City & Guilds Level 2 and Level 3 Electrical Courses, these help you gain the qualifications needed to set you on the right pathway in your new career. However, changing career can bring obstacles such as time and money, for this exact reason our Home Study Electrical Courses are the perfect alternative to the full-time courses.

Not everyone can take 15 weeks off work to retrain as it includes seven weeks for Level 2, seven weeks for Level 3 then three days for the 18th Edition. This is why at Able Skills we offer the Home Study option. Our Home Study Electrical Courses are built around you and your time frame, all the theory work is complete at home in your own time and then you need to complete four weeks of practical training for the Level 2 and then three weeks for the Level 3. They don’t have to be completed in blocks of four and three weeks, they can be split up to fit around your diary. During the practical weeks you will also complete all the exams involved with the course.

Home Study has grown in popularity hugely over the past three years and this is massively down the the flexibility it offers our students. Along with the all the materials they need, our students also get access to a learning aid called ‘Smart Screen’ which is an online learning tool that includes mock exams and information on all units.

We’ve recently spoke to a few Home Study Electrical students here at Able Skills, each of which have taken a different journey. Read here:

Joe

Having completed the Level 2 Home Study Electrical Course with us, Joe is now back completing his Level 3 within the same Home Study format. Joe took the Home Study due to the flexibility it offered as it allowed him to work while learning and saved him a lot of time. Joe’s family have their own business and these electrical qualifications will help boost his workload. Read Joe’s story from his Level 2 course here: Joe's Story

Mark

Mark is also currently on his Level 3 Home Study course; however, he took a different route to get there. He completed his Level 2 qualification as a full-time course. He chose Able Skills because of the flexible Home Study option and the many great reviews he saw about our courses. The flexibility for his Level 3 has been a massive help as he lives up in Manchester, so completing all the theory in his own time worked perfectly.
