Home-Study Electrician courses, the practical side!

At our training centre we are very busy at the moment, providing Electrician courses to aspiring electricians. Unfortunately, many of our electrical courses are now fully booked until the end of the year! However, you can always get started with our Home-Study option, which is a great way to start studying towards a qualification and new career from the comfort of your own home, allowing you to learn at your own pace and even train whilst working an existing job. Today, we are going to look in detail at how this option works, how the practical side works when you eventually attend the centre and how you can get can get started yourself - Below you can take a look at these courses in action when it comes to the practical side, our students here this week are learning the valuable skills they will need on a daily basis out in the industry...

How does it work?

We offer a 'Home-Study option for both our City & Guilds Level 2 & 3 Electrical courses. These options work by replacing the instructor for the theory-side of the course with our 'Home-Study Pack'. The pack contains all of the theory knowledge you are expected to know as well as test questions so that you can challenge as you study. You'll work through the entire pack until you feel confident that you have understood everything that you have been provided with. Once you feel confident in this new-found knowledge you will contact us an book in time to learn the practical-side of the trade and gain the hands-on experience you need as well as to complete the relevant exams in order to achieve the qualification itself.

How will I learn?

During the time that you are learning the theory at home you will learn a whole range of subjects. Effectively this course will teach you to become an electrician from scratch, so you can expect to be faced with a lot of information, definitions, calculations, formulas and so on - Just take your time, we do not put a deadline on how long you can study the pack, we want to be confident when it comes to contacting us regarding the practical side of either course. In addition to the pack, we will also provide you with the associated City & Guilds reference book as well as access to Smartscreen – a City and Guilds online learning/assessment resource.
