Those looking to enrol on a bricklaying training course might be inspired by the tale of one Thomas Deacon Academy pupil, who will see her dream of playing for the 21-year-old Arsenal Ladies team come true - with a little help from a sponsorship package set up by the Larkfleet Group.

As a former athlete and lifelong England supporter, Karl Hick, the managing director of Larkfleet - a housing developer and builder based in Bourne, near Peterborough - was so impressed with 14-year old Scarlett Field's passion for her sport and natural ability to read the game that he has offered to sponsor her for this season.

Scarlett described herself as being a goalie "since I was about ten", adding that "hopefully Arsenal can now take me on to the next level so I can realise my ambition of one day playing for England".

Mr Hick added that Scarlett is an inspiration to all youngsters both locally and nationwide.
