Electrician Training at Able Skills

Today we bring you another student story of how we crossed paths with former processing administrator Warren Hayes. Warren hasn't always been interested in the electrical industry and this article we'll explain what it is was that brought our Electrical Courses to his attention. Currently undergoing the City &Guilds Level 2 Electrical Course, it's certainly safe to say he's happy he made the choice he did!

We'll speak about what he did before, how he found us and what he plans on doing in the future. So Let's begin...

Tell Us More About Your Old Job

So before this I was working as a processing administrator in an office close by to where I live in Brighton. It was the same thing everyday and I was constantly sat at a desk. I had been there nearly 2 years and to be honest I just knew it wasn't for me. I said to myself, I couldn't see myself there in the future so I'm going to take a risk and just leave.

Warren handed in his notice after saving a bit of money and began searching for other jobs going in the area.

Here's How He Came Across Our Electrical Courses

Warren told us that he was actually scrolling through Facebook and someone on his friends list had actually liked our video on the Real Life Video Review we did with Level 2 Electrical Course student Derren Davidson.

He was looking for jobs on various job sites but they were for jobs that were similar to his old one. He had a look on our website and the earliest we could get him in on the City & Guilds Level 2 Electrical Course at the time was this week.

But Why Do You Want To Be An Electrician?

After I initially spoke to John (from our office) on the phone, everything he told me sounded pretty impressive in terms of how much they tend to earn and how much experience Able Skills had in teaching aspiring Electricians.

Warren did he he always wanted a hands on job at heart so after a bit more research, a few more videos, a few more questions and a visit to Able Skills, Warren soon officially enrolled onto the City & Guilds Level 2 Electrical Course.

What's The Plan?

It's safe to say that Warren has been enjoying his time so far on his Electrical Course. He said that he's already applying to firms to potentially take him after and that he plans on the doing the Level 3 and eventually his NVQ!

It's great to see the power of social media helping people find the right career for them. The main thing for Warren was that it presented him with a new challenge which looks to give him a stable career after he's qualified!
