Keeping at a social distance on our Electrician courses!

We have been back here at Able Skills providing high-quality electrical training since the end of August! Although we are happy to be back we have had to make some huge changes to the way we operate to maintain social distancing measures and ensure the safety of both our students and staff. We have reduced the number of students on all of our Electrician courses, we are supplying PPE throughout the centre, hand sanitiser stations and encouraging the use of face coverings including our own branded masks which we are providing to our students as you can see in the picture below...

We will be giving out these branded masks to everyone taking courses with us.

Which courses are running?

Our entire range of Electrician courses is back up and running at a social distance. That includes our City & Guilds Level 2 and City & Guilds Level 3 as well as courses like our 3-day 18th Edition courses. We are able to run all of our training programmes as they are taught in separate units, however, the class sizes of all courses has been drastically reduced. We are also sending out Home-Study packs to students learning from home. When those students arrive for their practical training they will experience the same measures in place at the centre and we will continue to adhere to the governments advice as the situation develops.

As you can see all the tools a student could need are now hung up in the practical bay instead of all the tools and equipment being in a communal area.

As you can see in this image above, similar to the tools in the workshops, all of the items students need for their practical tasks will also be handed out separately. We have worked very hard since the beginning of this pandemic to control what is going on at our centre at all times, we want to be presenting a safe environment that is safe and reliable for students to learn and develop within, without fear of spreading the virus. We ask that whilst on a course with us that you use common sense and make sure that you, personally are doing your part. If you are feeling unwell and showing symptoms of Covid-19 please do not attend your course and we will do our best to find an alternative time for you to complete the course.

Each students will receive a box like those pictured above filed with all of the items they need for their practical training, simply to reduce contamination between students.
