Good learning is all about good teaching.

A great teacher makes the subject matter more engaging, easier to understand and, most importantly, more enjoyable. Happy students are the best students, and it’s all smiles on Able Skills plastering courses.

Meet the instructors

The Able Skills plastering instructors Jo and Spencer have a vast amount of experience between them, both in the trade and teaching. They love what they do and relish the chance to be able to pass on their knowledge to new and enthusiastic students.

Jo has over three decades in the trade under his belt. He comes from a long line of plasterers, so you could say it’s in his blood. It also makes him a natural choice to pass on the skills and knowledge required to do the job right. Students always love Jo, but with his always sunny disposition and obvious love for what he does, it’s hard not to.

Spencer is part of the furniture at Able Skills. He was the first member of staff way back when it all started and he’s still here today, fourteen years later. Before he found a home at Able Skills, Spencer had amassed plenty of experience in the trade and his natural talent for teaching has made him a popular instructor.

What our students say

As you might expect, we always get great feedback from students about our two plastering instructors. As a pair, they work really well together and have a really serious drive to produce the best plasterers possible.

They’re always 100% clear about what it takes in terms of commitment and practice to make the grade. They never mislead anyone into thinking they can do the job without having put in the hours. Jo admits that even after decades of doing it, he’s always learning new things. It’s this honesty, dedication and quality teaching that set Able Skills plastering courses apart.
