MATRIX tools likely to be Black & Decker's latest must-have

Black & Decker’s new MATRIX Quick Connect System tools are likely to become a must-have for power tool users who want to grow their toolboxes at their own pace.

The system, which is built around three different base power units and changeable attachments, allows users to access some of the industry’s most popular types of tools for drilling, cutting, sanding and more, while making huge savings through not having to purchase bare tools separately.

Matt Nestorick, the product manager for consumer power tools at Black & Decker, said that the patented MATRIX modular system as been designed for performance and compactness.

“We focused on offering a tool system that offers users both the value of large combination kits and the flexibility to choose the tools they need to get their projects done,” he explained. “We also spent a lot of time focused on tool performance to provide users with the tools they need to complete their DIY activities.”

The system is offered in 12V MAX, 20V MAX and 4.0 Amp AC base power units each of which are sold with the drill/driver attachment. Six further attachments are available for purchase separately, including an impact driver attachment, for tough fastening applications, an oscillating multi-tool attachment for precision and performance sanding, cutting, scraping, grinding, or paint stripping, and a jigsaw attachment, for fast straight cutting or detailed curve cutting.
