Workers who have taken plumbing courses could find themselves in demand to assist homeowners with DIY projects this weekend, following comments from the New West End Company.

Jace Tyrell, a spokesperson for the firm, suggested that there are "definitely" more people deciding to make improvements to their house rather than trying to move to a larger home.

With so many individuals choosing to carry out work on their beloved living space, there may be new demand for training and plumbing courses since Mr Tyrell has highlighted the bathroom as the most popular room to renovate.

He added: "Maybe the great British public have a love of the bathroom all of a sudden. It's quite on trend at the moment to use accessories around bathrooms. That's something we are hearing from the retailers."

A survey commissioned by the New West End Company and carried out on YouGov found that Londoners are more likely to carry out improvements to their home than people in other parts of the country.
