Times are tough right now for everyone, with the country on lockdown and many people losing their jobs. Having a trade gives you a solid skill to fall back on and trades like carpentry are not going anywhere. Considering training towards a new career? No experience?
Not a problem! If you are interested in the trade but first want to learn the basics and get a taste of the trade then consider our Introduction to Carpentry course first. This course is only 5-days long but will give you a real insight into the skill looking at; The use of hand tools such as chisels, planes etc, how to cut basic joints, cutting and fitting architraves and skirting, how to fit a Lock and how to it a door into a lining/frame (Time permitting). These fundamentals will give you a great starting point and the course overall will give you an opportunity to know if the trade is for you and whether or not it is something you would like to peruse further.
Want to start a career?
If you already have some DIY experience or you are confident that you want to begin training full-time then our City & Guilds Carpentry & Joinery Combined Course is what you should be looking at. This course is packed full of useful information, guided by our expert instructors this course will teach you to become a professional from scratch! Carpenters are frequently considered to be amongst the most important trade within the construction industry and working in this industry can be very rewarding which is why we have combined the 2 C&Gs Carpentry & Joinery basic certificates to enable you to achieve both skill sets.
