Job Description: Carpentry Tutor
Able Skills Ltd is looking for an experienced Carpenter to join our team as a Carpentry tutor. No previous tutor / assessing experience is required and the position would ideally suit a candidate who would relish an opportunity to pass on their experience, knowledge and skills. This is a full-time position and the hours are 8.30am to 4.00pm - based in Dartford, Kent.
You will be required to teach practical 'hands on' courses to fee paying adults who are keen to learn a new trade. Some candidates are looking to learn some DIY skills whilst others are looking to achieve qualifications in Carpentry and Joinery - all offered via City & Guilds. The role will include teaching and recording evidence so that qualifications can be achieved by the students.
The level of the practical training courses you will be teaching are predominantly level 1 so a good understanding of Carpentry & Joinery is required with qualifications being beneficial. Passing on experience is key, showing and teaching learners practically how to undertake all aspects of Carpentry & Joinery.
You will need to be confident, motivated and well organised, have good time keeping skills and be able to work as part of a team.
Although ideal, no teaching or training experience is needed as training will be given to the successful candidate if required. You will be working alongside our existing Carpentry instructors who will support you in this role.
