Just like all our other trades, our plumbing centre has started 2018 with a full house across all our plumbing courses. With a demand for Plumbers up and down the UK, many people are seeing this as an opportunity to retrain and start a new career.

This week has seen a brand-new City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing Course begin here at our centre in Dartford and it has been a great success so far in the first week of six. Each student is progressing very well with both practical and theory elements of the programme. A full group of hopeful Plumbers under the guidance of extremely experience instructor, Mike who has been with us for a long time and is a fantastic tutor for both plumbing courses and gas courses.

The past few years has proved to be very busy within our plumbing department as we have been fully booked for all our plumbing courses months in advance. An increasing demand for plumbing courses has been down to the increase in house building and general construction work across the UK. More and more people are seeing the skills shortage as a chance to retrain as a Plumber and have a whole new career.

With short courses and long courses, we have a whole range of different students here at Able Skills taking a plumbing course. Short course students tend to be Property Developers, Bathroom installers or even small business owners. The longer courses usually see adults looking to go for a complete career change.

Many of the students that take the City & Guilds Level 2 course will eventually move onto their gas training to further their careers. This will enable to them to carry out plumbing and gas work and earn more money in the future. With our gas courses being so popular here at Able Skills it means that we are always having to fit in more courses. These are usually filled with students coming back after their level 2 plumbing course to complete their gas training.
