Workers who have approved electrical qualifications could find themselves in demand to ensure the high quality of the Olympic media centre in London.

According to the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA), work is well underway on the construction of the huge building that will hold approximately 20,000 broadcasters during the 2012 Games.

Olympics minister Tessa Jowell stated that the centre will be extremely important during the event and beyond.

"These state-of-the-art media facilities will ensure the Games reach an audience of four billion people worldwide and as the largest venue on the Olympic Park, they will provide a significant legacy," she said.

With so many people expecting top-quality coverage throughout the entire event, workers who have taken electrician courses could be integral to making sure that it is provided.

The ODA recently announced that work is progressing well on the sustainable Olympic Park energy centre that started in August last year.
