Tradespersons with approved plumbing qualifications have recently found their services in high demand as a result of the wintry weather, Rated People has revealed.

According to the firm, plumbers are increasingly being employed by homeowners who want to make sure their boilers are running efficiently and correctly.

In addition, it stated that more industry professionals have been needed to draught proof properties and install insulation and double glazing.

Andrew Skipwith, founder and chief executive officer of the tradesperson recommendation website, commented: "The recent flurries of heavy snowfall have led to home owners recruiting tradesmen such as heating engineers and window specialists."

He added that the site has seen a large influx in the number of visitors looking for hints and tips on how to protect their homes from the poor weather.

Rated People helps Britons find suitable workers and was established in 2005.

It has so far contributed to more than 190,000 jobs nationwide.
