Tradespersons who have taken plumbing training courses could find that they are essential to a new project in West Ealing.

It was announced last week that planning permission for a £137 million regeneration scheme has been submitted to Ealing Council, which includes proposals to build 346 affordable homes, 91 houses for shared ownership and 309 properties for outright sale on the Green Man Lane estate.

Furthermore, community buildings and facilities will be constructed as part of the programme.

It was revealed last year that firms Rydon and A2Dominion had been selected as preferred developers for project.

Commenting on the news, Darrell Mercer, chief executive of the A2Dominion Group, said: "We are delighted to be involved in such an important project [that] will make a massive difference to West Ealing."

It could be that, if and when the project is given the go ahead by the local authority, workers with approved plumbing and electrical qualifications find themselves in demand to help ready the homes for their first residents.
