As many as 1,000 jobs could be safeguarded in Warwickshire thanks to a new initiative.

Funded by Warwickshire County Council, Enterprising Warwickshire will give support and advice to new businesses as well as deliver in-depth assistance to those in the manufacturing and construction fields.

According to the Birmingham Post, the new initiative is aimed at helping new businesses get motivated.

Councillor Peter Fowler said: "It will provide even greater help to companies, who are both struggling to get through the credit crunch and maybe still looking at making the most of new opportunities, as well as encouraging more people to start their own businesses."

People looking to begin work in the construction, plumbing or electrical industry could benefit from courses in the areas.

It is hoped that the new plan could help start-ups know where to go should they need advice, something that could be particularly useful for someone who has just completed a plumbing or electrician course and is looking to begin work for themselves.
