Plumbing training apprentices may well have been among those in attendance at last weekend's National Home Improvement Show.

The event's seminars and advice sessions offered visitors expertise and guidance on transforming their properties.

Experts from across the home improvements sector also attended, including George Clarke from Channel 4's The Home Show.

Mr Clarke said: "This show is very much about staying where you are, not having all that expenditure in terms of moving house and making a home that you really might not have fallen in love with into a home that really works for you."

Michael Holmes, from Channel Five's I Own Britain's Best Home, also made an appearance and explained that the educational aspect of the weekend was its highlight.

He added that the programme was principally for renovators and people looking to extend or remodel their properties and that it was difficult to attend all the seminars in two days.
