Bricklaying courses may soon be in more demand after a source suggested that certain areas of the construction industry are recovering well from the recession.

Nick Whitten, business editor of Construction News, stressed that a full-blown recovery may be overstating the situation, but he claimed some areas are improving.

In news that may spur more individuals to complete bricklaying courses, he highlighted house-building as "definitely recovering".

Mr Whitten added: The key area that we are all keen to see recover though is the private commercial sector."

His comments were made following the publication of a Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors survey, which found five per cent more professionals in the sector reported rising - rather than falling - levels of workloads in the first quarter of the year.

The construction news representative described it as "really good news", that the Rics document also showed some improvement in the commercial sector.
