The Prince’s Trust has provided grants to two young skilled tradesmen from Lincolnshire to help them set up their own businesses.

The East Lindsey Target has reported that 21-year-old electrician, Michael Stewart, and 25-year-old joiner and bricklayer, Michael Mason, have both secured significant funding from the trust to help them with the costs of starting their own companies.

Michael Stewart said that he had aspired to start his own business for some time and was encouraged to do it when secure employment in the construction industry became very precarious during the most recent recession.

“I’ve aspired to run my own business for quite some time and want to feel in control of my future,” said Michael, who has qualifications in electrotechnical installation and competency and is currently working towards further certifications in electrical inspection and testing. “I’m willing to put in the hours to make this business work and to be successful.”
