Technicians who have completed plumbing courses are among the tradesmen getting involved in a new scheme in Wales that will see someone receive a free home makeover.

The initiative, organised by Plumbwise Wales director Shaun Hutchings, will see someone in the Port Talbot area given a little help with home improvements.

But Mr Hitchings pointed out to ThisIsSouthWales.co.uk that it is not just engineers with plumbing course training who have joined the programme, explaining: "We have got plumbers, painters, carpenters and builders on board who will be giving up their own time to do whatever is needed."

He told the newspaper that he wants to find someone who does a lot for charity or their local community and help them out for a change.

Last month, a study by the AA showed that tradesmen are often required by people just after they move into a home, as previous inhabitants hide faults before they leave.
