Quality Plumber Week and our Plumbing courses!

 

This week is the Association of Plumbing and Heating Contractor's 'Quality Plumber Week' which is running between 5th - 11th of October! This is an annual event, hosted to praise the plumbers and heating engineers across the country, celebrating the work they do on a daily basis. Beyond this they aim to inform and update these workers on the upcoming changes in the industry, the big developments and things to look out for in this line of work. Amongst other things they are giving out prizes for plumbers with a great reputation, raising awareness and they've even teamed up with Travis Perkins to host free online workshops for installers to talk about key changes in the trade. This year we aim to build upon the successes of previous years in bringing the industry together to debate important matters whilst shining a spotlight on the importance of the work that quality plumbing and heating contractors carryout on a daily basis. Interested in learning the trade?

 

If you have ever thought about learning the trade of Plumbing then there is no better place for you to learn than here at Able Skills. We have been teaching students for almost 20-years and understand what goes into giving somebody the knowledge and ability they need to enter this industry. When starting out in the trade our City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing course is a perfect starting point. This course is 6-weeks of both classroom-based theory lessons and hands-on practical sessions out in our workshops. The training will cover various topics including Electrical principles and processes, Common plumbing processes, Cold water systems, Domestic hot water systems, Sanitation, Central heating systems and Drainage systems resulting in an industry-recognised qualification.

 

 

Unfortunately, due to how popular our training courses are we are now fully booked on this particular course until March 22nd 2021! If this suits you then contact us and we can secure your place on this course. However, if you would like to get started as soon as possible then you can consider our Home-Study option. Our Home Study Level 2 Plumbing option allows you to start learning the theory side of the trade in the comfort of your own home. We will send you a 'Home-Study Pack' which includes all of the information you need to learn as well as test questions so that you can check yourself as you study. Once you feel confident that you have absorbed everything provided you will contact us and book 4 separate weekly slots that suit you to learn the practical side and to complete the relevant exams.

How do I get started?

 

You can get started with either the traditional City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing course or our Home Study Level 2 Plumbing course by giving us a call on 01322 280 202. Over the phone we can answer any questions that you have an secure your place on a desired course. Alternatively, you can come and visit out centre in person, in person we can discuss how the courses each work and even take you on a guided tour around the centre so that you can see the facilities on offer for yourself. Our office is open 7-days-a-week between the hours of 8:30 - 16:30!

If you live outside of the local area then you may be thinking about securing accomodation in the local area for the duration of your time spent on plumbing courses with us. Did you know that we have our own accommodation? Our accomodation is located just a short walking distance from our training centre and can be booked for the reasonable price of just £20 per night! - If you are interested make sure to contact us ahead of your courses' starting date as spaces are limited!
