The Mansfield branch of the construction supplies company Screwfix has donated vital equipment to a charity that works to convert derelict houses into renovated homes for armed service veterans.

The supplier provided the materials to the Houses 2 Homes charity, which also serves as a skills and employment pathway programme for the veterans themselves, providing them with construction skills as they help to rebuild the homes.

The charity has spend the last eight months converting seven derelict houses on Hillmoor Street, Pleasley into seven new homes – five serving as family homes and two providing shared units, with four veterans in each.
