Students on our hands on Electrician Courses are provided with in depth course material to assist with their learning. To ensure students have everything they need to launch their new career, all necessary text books are provided.

When enrolling onto the City & Guilds Accredited Level 2 or Level 3 Electrical Courses, we also provide our students with a CK-Tool Kit!Such kit is recognised throughout the industry and is the perfect starter kit to help those new to the trade. But the question is, what do you keep in your tool bag?

We asked our own industry expert Electrical Instructor Clive on what he says are the essentials for an Electrician. Here's what he came up with!

  • Insulated Screwdrivers

This is a specially designed screwdriver that has a tough, non-conductive plastic cover over the shaft and handles.

  • Cutters and Pliers set

Pliers are made in various shapes and sizes and for many uses. Some are used for gripping something round like a pipe or rod, some are used for twisting wires, and others are designed to be used for a combination of tasks including cutting wire. There are also tools that are used just for cutting wires

  • Claw Hammer

A claw hammer is a tool primarily used for hitting nails into, or extracting nails from, another object

  • Tape Measure
  • Continuity Tester + Volt Tester

A Volt Tester is a piece of electronic test equipment used to determine the presence of electricity in a piece of equipment under test.

An instrument designed to indicate whether a surface is horizontal
