What is the 18th Edition?

The IET or Institution of Engineering and Technology creates the 18th Edition or Wiring regulations to ensure that all those working with electrical installations across the country are doing so at the same standard, outlining guidelines makes sure that everyone is working safely. The regulations apply to the design, erection and verification of electrical installations, plus additions and alterations to existing installations. First issued in 1882, the regulations are updated on a regular basis to reflect new developments in technology, the way we interact with electrics and so on to establish best practice.

How does the course work?

Our instructors are experts on the topic as they have been teaching this edition and studying it since it came into effect on the 1st of January 2019. The course is completely classroom-based aiming to make sure students are familiar with the format of the book itself, what the content means and how the statements or guidelines within the book can be applied to everyday activity out on the job. The course is completed by way of online assessment taken here in our dedicated exam room. The test is 'open book' meaning that you are able to refer to the 18th Edition book itself during the exam process as the tasks is not remembering the regulations but knowing their meaning and application.
