Things to keep in mind when studying Gas at Able Skills!

Here at Able Skills, we know what it takes to become a great professional. We have been providing training for a number of years and we understand the process from start to finish. We also know what students should be doing to make the most out of their experience whilst here at our training centre...So we thought that we would raise awareness about some of the things you should keep in mind whilst taking one of our Gas courses:

Bpec Approved Gas Training Courses:

Firstly, the fact that we provide Bpec approved Gas courses. What we provide students with cannot be matched and this is reflected by our Bpec approved Gas Training Courses, giving students top industry-recognised qualifications. For those who don't know, Bpec is the industry standard when it comes to Gas Courses and you should really take note on whether the facility you are considering offers the most widely known and recognised qualification, at Able Skills you are always going to get the most beneficial qualification!

Secondly, this is really important to keep in mind if you are planning on becoming self-employed...Whilst studying here at Able Skills you should take note that you are surrounded by not only experienced instructors but your peers. All around you, there are aspiring tradesmen, experienced workers gaining extra training, people who have been in the industry for years picking up the latest wiring regulations or achieving an NVQ. It is extremely advantageous to make the most out of the situation and communicate, socialise and potentially find partners or even an employer. Hundreds of students come through our facility each week, it is undoubtedly a great place to network for a tradesman!

Next is wisdom, what we mean by this is that our instructors have years and years of experience both teaching and working out on-site daily as Gas Engineers. They have come across every possible scenario and have dealt with it, their experience is unmatched - take advantage, listen, take note, ask questions and make the most of being taught by somebody who has been in a position you are trying to reach!

One of the aspects needed on the path towards becoming a Registered Gas Safe Engineer is completing a portfolio of work via a placement. This is so you have evidence that you are competent and can complete gas work safely and effectively. NOW...Some people panic at this stage as they don't have an in into the industry, no friends that work the trade and so on - finding a suitable placement on your own can be challenging. Not to worry, for a small fee our partners at Boiler Medic can sort you out with a placement, they are a private Gas company who only take on students from our facility!

Another thing we want you to keep in mind is our flexibility when it comes to payment, students may be put off by the idea of forking out for their training in one payment, for example, with our New Entrant Gas Training Package 2 you can pay in 7-weekly instalments of  £327.85 hopefully this makes for an easier training process for some students. We also offer alternative training methods for courses other than Gas such as weekend training and home-study options for trades like plumbing!
