Thanks to a new national scheme, tracking down a tradesman you can trust is easier than ever.
The government’s ‘Buy With Confidence’ scheme allows those hunting for a tradesman to pick from a selection of traders that have been certified as reliable and trustworthy by Trading Standards.
Prior to being enrolled on the scheme, the tradespeople must undergo various background checks and a series of audits in order to ensure they qualify. They are then monitored closely afterwards to ensure that they are still offering customers the best service. ‘Buy With Confidence’ has been introduced to allow both customers are trustworthy tradespeople to do business without fear of being treated unfairly or ripped off.
The tradespeople featured on the site include electricians, plasterers, decorators, plumbers and many more, located all over the country.
The tradespeople display a ‘Buy with Confidence' logo to allow customers to be confident that they are enrolled on the scheme. Standards officers in Plymouth are supporting the scheme, and they told This Is Plymouth, “For years Trading Standards Services across the country have been unable to tell the public who to avoid – and, more importantly, who they should go to when buying goods or services.
“For this reason, Plymouth City Council signed up to the Buy with Confidence approved trader scheme,” added the officers.
