Electrician courses

Inspection and Testing courses at Able Skills.

It is worth noting that we're an IET Centre of excellence. For those that may not be familiar, this is something the IET have especially accredited us for meaning not everyone has the privilege of holding such title. In the words of IET themselves, they describe a centre of excellence as training providers that 'have excellence at the core of their organisation' and 'they're only awarded to providers after a rigorous audit that covers all operational aspects of training delivery'. This is important as this qualification is seen as one of the more difficult within the electrical community and you want to make sure that you are learning from a trusted provider!

What's involved in completing this course?

This Level 3 Award in Inspection and Testing is mostly theory-based and will be taught within a classroom setting during which our talented electrical instructor will cover a huge range of aspects surrounding this skill including things like; safe isolation of electrical circuits and installations, requirements for initial verification of electrical installations, requirements for completing the inspection of electrical installations prior to their being placed into service, requirements for the safe testing and commissioning of electrical installations, requirements for testing before circuits are energised, requirements for testing energised installations, documentation, the differences between periodic inspections and initial verifications and so much more!

The instructor will be there to guide you the entire way. This course is just 6-days but will be packed full of valuable lessons and tips for testing installations both new and existing. They will make reference to the IET Guidance Note 3 and provide hand-outs and a learner pack, assisted by a Power-point presentation and generally, you will be able to ask questions and seek help at any time. We are confident that if you absorb the information and put in the effort you will get back what you expect and much more, our instructors are experts in the trade and have a wealth of knowledge not only on inspection and testing but the trade and the industry as a whole make sure that you take advantage of there expertise and work through the course efficiently, we want you to succeed and will help you however we can in preparation for the assessments!
