With such strange times that we are living in your current line of work may seem uncertain, electricians don't have this problem, electricians are and always will be in demand. In fact, there are fewer people in modern times taking up the trade leaving a skills gap in the industry that seems almost obvious to take advantage of, today we'll take a look at some reasons to peruse a career as an electrician and how to get involved in our electrician courses...

Demand:

The first reason to pursue a career as an electrician is the job security and the reliability that having a trade behind you gives you. The demand for professional electricians today is higher than ever before. The reason for the growing demand for electricians is the increasing demand for their services. When you think about it almost every business, homeowner, commercial building and much more need the services of electricians. There are a few other reasons that have driven the demand for new electricians in recent times, including the fact that long-time served electricians are now retiring. Their clients still require their services. New and young electricians are needed to replace them.

Self-employment:

Another reason to consider life as an electrician is the ability to work the trade on a self-employed basis, this is a route that a lot of people go for when starting out in the industry. Becoming an electrician will open up your doors to owning and managing your own business which is a great reason to think about the profession, it's a great opportunity to not be under the supervision of anyone but yourself. Obviously you may want to gain some experience in the industry and serve a couple of years in the trade at first to gain the funds to be able to do that but it's always an option once you have the training and knowledge behind you.

Competitive:

Having trade skill means that you'll always have something to fall back on. What is meant by this is that a trade skill means a job for life! In a world where job security is scarce learning, a skilled trade can actually give you that security to fall back on. This reliability also comes into play when you look at how much electricians earn. Because they are always in demand, the salary of the average electrician will always sit at a competitive level, currently, The average salary for an employed electrician is £34,800, which is about £2,000 higher than that of a plumber. Your salary will also increase as you gain more experience and put more time into the industry, build your own business and so on there are no limits to how much you can earn with such a diverse trade behind you.
