Technology is constantly changing towards greener alternatives. Here at Able Skills we are always adapting to changes in the industry. If you work in the heating industry you will know that the UK is committed to reducing emissions to zero by 2050!

This includes a ban on boiler installations in all new builds from as early as 2025, however, there is news that this might be pushed back. Regardless, people in the industry will need new training to adapt to this huge change.

Gas courses

What kind of training?

Greener Alternatives to gas boilers will take over in the near future. Heating engineers will need assistance from qualified electricians. For example, to install an electrical isolation point or complete the final electrical wiring in order to get the boiler running...

But what if you had that knowledge, skill and qualifications yourself? You could even set up a business that focuses on new heating solutions in peoples homes and make a huge mark in this new industry.

Here at Able Skills we are a centre of excellence when it comes to electrical training courses and offer a huge range of Electrician courses. We can help you get up to speed with the theory, practical skills and help you to achieve those all important qualifications.

Heating Engineers must be Gas Safe Registered!

It is a legal requirement that all gas heating engineers also obtain Gas Safe Registration. If you are working out in the industry on gas appliances without being registered, you will be caught. Initial registration will be subject to a three-month probationary period, in which time the engineer will need to undertake installations and obtain supporting evidence of examples of their works in order to obtain full registration.

Registering with the Gas Safe Register is easy and the process can be done online or alternatively you can download a registration form. The cost of a new application is £347 plus VAT. This includes one engineer and registration fees for one year.
