Research by M&S Money has suggested that offering customers a great service is vital in all areas of business, which workers on decorating courses may wish to be aware of.

Commenting on the study, which showed that six out of ten people stay loyal to a business or person due to good customer service, chief executive of the company Colin Kersley noted that consumers obviously feel very strongly about the issue.

This is something that technicians who have completed decorating courses may wish to keep in mind, particularly since Mr Kersley specifically mentioned the profession.

"Most people can name someone they trust completely, whether cutting their hair, managing their money, decorating their house or fixing their car," he remarked.

A report by the banking institution Halifax published recently showed that many people like the idea of having to carry out work on their home to turn it into a dream house.
