Industry professionals with approved electrical qualifications could make a big difference in keeping homeowners safe, according to a Bradford electrician.

The Telegraph & Argus revealed today (December 9th) that Liam Stone has decided to offer free safety checks on houses in the region, after becoming worried that increased numbers of people are carrying out botched DIY jobs and putting their health at risk.

He commented that the best way to avoid any electrical problems causing serious injury is to make sure workers who have taken an accredited electrician training course are employed.

"Electrical dangers at home are avoidable if people use the right experts for the right jobs," he told the publication.

He added that a specialist should be called immediately if householders think they have noticed a problem.

Mr Stone is employed by electrical installation and repair business Mr Electric, which has more than 200 franchises worldwide.
