Engineers studying electrical courses could find their expertise is required in Wrexham, after a firm announced its intention to extend its headquarters.

Ed Reeves, chief executive and co-founder of Moneypenny, a provider of telephone answering and reception services, highlighted how the 8,000 sq ft development could create new job opportunities at the company.

However, technicians on electrical courses will no doubt be looking at trying to find work during the construction process, which is expected to be completed by June 2011.

Mr Reeves said: "We have been operating very successfully in Wrexham for more than ten years now and this expansion is an illustration of our commitment to Wrexham and the region."

The extension will be built alongside the firm's current headquarters at Yale Business Village, within Wrexham Technology Park.

Moneypenny has been in operation since 2000, when it was started up by Mr Reeves and his sister. The firm has previously won the Queen's award for enterprise and innovation.
