You can still contact a Gas Engineer during lockdown!

Now that we are all spending more time at home, it is good to ensure that everything is working properly and safely. Heating and hot water are considered to be a necessity and therefore engineers are doing their best to provide an emergency service for such situations, even if the household is self-isolating. If you think you may have a gas leak or a problem with your boiler do not think that you cannot get hold of an engineer or that you cannot receive the services of these professionals. Engineers will complete risk assessment that is specific to your situation will be carried out prior to entering your property, which will determine the appropriate PPE to be worn, for example, gloves, face coverings. Every gas appliance in your home should be checked annually by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Here at Able Skills, during this second lockdown we are continuing to provide high-quality Gas courses to our students helping them to gear up for new opportunities and work...

Gas courses

You can still contact a Gas Engineer during lockdown!

Want to become a Gas Engineer?

If you are thinking about training towards becoming a professional Gas Engineer yourself then you are in the right place. We have been providing comprehensive gas training options for many years, helping students to learn and develop their knowledge and ability and ultimately preparing them for the industry. Our Gas courses a presented in packages of both training and assessments. For example, our New Entrant Gas Training Package 2 includes 7-weeks of training, portfolio completion and an ACS assessment. All of which are needed in order to apply to the Gas Safe Register, which is a legal requirement here in the UK.

You will learn through a mix of both classroom based Gas theory sessions and practical hands-on training in our workshops learning with a range of gas appliances, tools and materials such as pipe bending. After the initial 7-weeks of training, you will look to gather evidence that you can carry out tasks on the job. To do this you will need to be working alongside an already registered Gas Engineer.

Demand for Gas Engineers?

There is a huge demand for Gas Engineers! Only 6% of Registered Gas Engineers working in the country are under the age of 35...Due to the lack of skilled workers in the trade there is plenty of work for engineers and those professionals are seeing a rise in earnings due to this skills gap. In fact, the demand is so high that many are turning down jobs – not because they don’t like the jobs, but because they are simply too busy already. This makes now a great time to start training as a gas engineer. Not only are there plenty of opportunities in the field, but you will also have plenty of choices when it comes to your training here at Able Skills. We re very flexible with how people pay for courses and how they train, we even offer courses on a weekend basis, allowing to to complete a course over a series of weekends instead of a traditional Monday -Friday course.
