You can still get started with Plastering courses this year!

Able Skills has been around for 20-years! We started off teaching plastering courses and now in 2020 we are even better at providing comprehensive training, giving students lifelong trade skills. Interested in learning plastering? You will not find a better environment to learn and develop new skills, we have spaces available this December on our NVQ Level 2 Plastering Course. Today let's take a look at what this course involves and how you can get started training towards a new career in the trade...

What will I learn?

Our instructors are very knowledgeable on the trade having spent many years working out on the tools. Now teaching, they understand how to convey to our students the lessons they've learnt along the way as well as teaching you the fundamentals like; how to skim a ceiling, how to prepare and plaster ceiling, how to cut and fix plasterboard to ceilings and walls, mixing materials, health and safety and even aspects like how to store your materials properly.

This 8-weeks course will teach you to become a professional plasterer from scratch. You'll start with the absolute basics and progress over the weeks as you learn the skills and reality for what is required when working full time as a Plasterer. Taught by our expert instructors you will gain practical experience getting hands-on with tasks that reflect reality and also provides you with a comprehensive understanding of what you will need to do to eventually achieve the NVQ level 2.

Once you have completed the 8-weeks of training we have no doubt that you will have the knowledge and practical ability to find work within the Plastering industry. You will want to immediately start to gather the evidence which will award you your NVQ. Our training has been developed to help you fully understand how to gather work based evidence, how to enlist the help of an onsite recorder, how to record photographic evidence and so on. An NVQ is a vocational qualification and must be assessed on-site. The purpose of this plastering course is to provide you with an underpinning, industry-recognised City & Guilds qualification and a very in depth understanding of what is required to gain an NVQ.
