Course details

The pre-requisites for anyone looking to gain NVQ level 3 via the Experienced Worker route (EWA - C&G 2346-03) is that you can prove over 5 years’ experience in commercial/industrial settings and from September 2023, that you also hold a level 2 Electrical Installation qualification.

Having worked in industry for over 5 years, the chances of an individual requiring training over a long period of time to cover the theory and practical aspects of this qualification are minimal and so Able Skills has devised a fast-track route to achieving this qualification.

As the likelihood is that no training will be required for time-served Electrical Installation operatives, we are offering the opportunity to complete the qualification in 5 days at Able Skills – Assessment only, preceded with some Home Study for the theory aspects of the qualification.

It is important that individuals have the capability to achieve this qualification in this condensed time and without the provision of training so prior to booking, we will require you to complete a candidate background form – we will look to verify any information provided.

If you are eligible for this fast-track route to C&G 2365 level 2, we will then send you a Home Study pack and you will need to revise this at length as you will sit exams at Able Skills when you are ready to book in your assessment time. Once you have completed your study and are ready to undertake your assessments and exams, you will need to book a week in-centre with us and during this time you will undertake:

Practical assessments for units:

  • 211 - Health and safety in building services engineering and
  • 204 - Installation of wiring systems and enclosures

Theory assessments (exams) for units:

  • 601 - Health and safety in building services engineering (closed book)
  • 210 - Understand how to communicate with others within building services engineering (closed book)
  • 602 - Principles of Electrical Science (closed book)
  • 203 - Electrical Installations Technology (open book – IET OnSite Guide)

It is also a requirement that you bring your own tools with you for use during this assessment week.
