If you are looking to learn carpentry then Able Skills 5 day intensive, hands on Carpentry training course is certainly the place to start.

This 5 day Intensive Carpentry Course will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of various aspects of carpentry whether you are a total beginner or have some previous carpentry experience.

In the allocated 5 days you can expect to learn essential home carpentry and maintenance, covering the most obvious of areas like fitting skirting and dado rails and hanging doors and fitting locks however, if there are other aspects of carpentry that you would rather cover, we will design the week for you if we can.

If you set out with the intention of attending purely for the purposes of DIY then you will not be disappointed; this 5 day Carpentry course will meet your expectations and you will be ready to undertake those essential jobs at home with confidence.

At the same time, if you have a desire to move onto a carpentry qualification, then this will also act as your underpinning knowledge to move forward when you are ready.

We are not claiming to make you a qualified Carpenter in 5 days but we do promise to provide you with dedicated Carpentry training and an excellent opportunity to progress further if you want.

Our 5 day Carpentry courses will act as a great basis for work within the Carpentry industry but we do recommend that you consider additional training if you want to sustain a long term career as a Carpenter.

We try to make all training as accessible as possible to everyone so if you have weekly commitments but would still like to learn to Carpentry, we offer Carpentry training over 2 consecutive weekends.

After having spent a week with us on an intensive course you may decide to upgrade to the City & Guilds option, this is an 8 week course and will provide you with recognised Carpentry qualifications.

If you decide to upgrade, we will adjust your training time and fees to accommodate for the 5 day Carpentry course completed. Whether you do decide to upgrade or not, the week spent with us will not have been wasted as you will have gained a great deal of practical knowledge.

As a City & Guilds Approved Centre, with Assessors and Internal Verifiers on site, you can be assured that equal training and facilities will be offered to everyone attending all courses.

Able Skills Intensive Carpentry Course

During our 5 day Carpentry course we will cover every aspect of Carpentry that we can and feel confident that after spending that short time with us, you will be ready to tackle everyday Carpentry requirements.

Should you be looking to do a DIY project or for a change in career, we feel confident that any of the Carpentry courses we offer will suit your needs.

During this 5 day Intensive Carpentry Course you will learn how to:

• Use hand tools such as chisels, planes etc.
• Cut basic joints
• Cut and fit dado rails, architraves, skirtings and doorstops
• Erect a stud-wall
• Fit a door lining/frame
• Hang a door
• Fit a Lock

This course is designed to provide you with plenty of general Carpentry knowledge to ensure that once you leave the training centre, you are confident in various areas of Carpentry.

At the start of this Carpentry course, you will be presented with a folder containing a day by day schedule of the different stages you will be covering throughout the period of your Carpentry training.

In addition, you will also be provided with various different Carpentry notes as well as useful and relevant paper work for when you undertake Carpentry tasks at home or at work. Throughout your training, Carpentry tools and equipment will be fully supplied and demonstrated.

This is a hands-on, practical Carpentry course and you will be involved at every stage and will be participating throughout. It is therefore recommended you bring suitable clothing and for your own safety, steel capped footwear is essential.
