No Hidden Costs: The Price you See is the Price you Pay.
All of the training available at Able Skills varies in price and duration; we are not the cheapest but we are not the most expensive. We do believe in providing a value for money service and we have no hidden costs, no extras to pay and all of our costs include VAT. Able Skills will not be increasing course prices despite the fact that VAT is set to rise to 20% in 2011.

- Urgent Bulletin for Gas Installers: Achieve CPA1 before 01st April or your CEN1 and HTR1 will be suspended. If you lose this, you will not be able to work on central heating boilers or space heaters. CPA1 with Able Skills is £130.00 including VAT. This will be available at both our Dartford and Bradford sites – 1 day maximum
The Company
Able Skills was launched in 2002 and is now firmly established as one of the leaders in the delivery of Construction Training and is currently in the position of being able to offer qualifications in every subject we cover, right up to NVQ level 3.
We can provide training for anyone looking to learn a construction trade whether they are looking at guidance for DIY purposes or considering a change of career.
Quality and value for money are priority for every member of Able Skills team; we promote honesty and offer progression and support in everything we do.
We are confident in the delivery of our training and encourage everyone to pay us a visit to see firsthand what we do; no appointments are necessary, no sales team and no pressure - we feel sure that once you have visited Able Skills, it will be where you choose to train.
Cost and Flexibility
All of the training available at Able Skills varies in price and duration; we are not the cheapest but we are not the most expensive. We do believe in providing a value for money service and we have no hidden costs, no extras to pay and all of our costs include VAT.
We do believe that everyone should have access to training which is why we do not take full payment in advance of courses; we offer you the opportunity to pay a deposit to secure dates and then the chance to pay as you train. We can also provide you with details of available adult funding options.
Some training courses are very structured and training dates are pre-determined but other training courses have the flexibility for you to choose the weeks or weekends that you want to attend.
Our Staff
We employ full time Instructors, Assessors and Internal Verifiers to oversee the training and any required assessment processes. All Able Skills staff are time served tradesmen with recognised qualifications within their field of expertise.
Additionally, all staff employed by us have also undergone the relevant training to provide them with the correct teaching and assessing qualifications and additionally, the qualifications required to internally verify that all of the training undertaken at Able Skills is done to the high standards imposed by our Governing Bodies.
Our Instructors have in excess of 300 years combined service within the construction industry. They are all City &Guilds trained, CAA approved and are A1 Assessors and VI Internal Verifiers in their own right which provides us with more qualified staff than any other training provider in the UK.
Facilities
Able Skills has dedicated training centre’s for each of the construction skills available: 2 Plumbing Centre’s, 2 Gas Centre’s, 2 Electrical Centre’s, 1 Plastering Centre, 1 Tiling Centre, 1 Carpentry Centre, 1 Bricklaying Centre, a small Painting & Decorating Centre and a state of the art Renewable Technologies Centre.
All of the training centre’s are equipped with the tools and materials to ensure the correct delivery of all courses and equal facilities are available to everyone, regardless of whether you train with us on a short term basis or longer for the purposes of gaining a qualification.
Accommodation
Able Skills has invested in 3 separate properties that have been furnished for the use of our students so that anyone who is looking to travel can rest assured that there is somewhere local and comfortable for them to stay whilst away from home.
Accreditations
Able Skills is an approved training provider and has accreditation to offer qualifications on behalf of:
City & Guilds, Construction Awards Alliance, EAL for Domestic Installer qualifications, CITB for gas training and assessment and NICEIC and BPEC for our Renewable Technologies courses
We are open 7 days every week throughout the year and all courses run every week without fail. We have the largest and best training facilities in the UK but we also have the correct amount of staff in place to cope with the demand for training and to deliver the courses in the correct manner.
Armed Forces
Able Skills provides Resettlement training packages for service leavers across the UK. We are accredited by several certificating bodies to train and assess qualifications to level 3 which means that we meet the requirements of ELCAS for those of you looking to use your Enhanced Learning Credits.
We are based in Kent but can provide accommodation for those of you living further afield. If you are interested in a ‘post forces’ career in construction, Able Skills is the place to train.
