Those interested in this advanced plumbing course will probably already have experienced Able Skills 5 day intensive plumbing course. We will consider candidates for this course who can demonstrate that they have been undertaking plumbing tasks as detailed in our 5 day intensive plumbing course.

Able Skills 5 day advanced plumbing course has been designed to enhance your knowledge and skills in domestic plumbing. The content of this course will allow you to take on larger and more complex tasks within a home or give you that added time to help you decide if a career in plumbing is what you really want.

If however, you are looking to train just to undertake plumbing tasks for your own benefit, these short intensive and advanced plumbing courses are ideal.

Able Skills intensive courses will provide you with a detailed understanding of domestic plumbing and central heating systems, providing you with the skills and confidence to tackle everyday plumbing around the house.

Able Skills is open 7 days every week and we welcome visitors at all times. Please feel free to come along to view our facilities, have an informal chat with any one of our instructors and meet existing students.

Our advanced plumbing course covers:

•    Running flow & return from boiler
•    Fitting 36x18 indirect cylinder
•    Fitting cold water storage tank
•    Fitting feed & expansion tank
•    Fitting motorised valves & pump
•    Running flow & return to radiators
•    Understanding wiring of heating systems
•    Micro-bore central heating
•    Sealed systems

With these new skills you will have the confidence to take on everyday DIY projects around the house or develop your expertise to a career in plumbing. All Able Skills intensive and advanced courses are accompanied by extensive training notes and a competency certificate.

Throughout the duration of your time with us, plumbing tools and equipment will be fully supplied, explained and demonstrated. These are hands on practical courses and as such, it is essential you bring suitable clothing and for your own safety, steel capped footwear is essential.

Progression with Able Skills:

As stated before, these courses will not qualify you as a plumber but they will contribute greatly towards any plumbing qualification you may decide to undertake.

Having completed our plumbing courses, you will have obtained many skills which will make completion of the City & Guilds 6129 plumbing course much easier to complete with confidence.

If you decide that you would like to pursue a career as a plumber then the City & Guilds 6129 is the next step. This qualification is industry standard and is a basis for progression to a variety of work paths.

This course will provide you with the underpinning knowledge to tackle many other plumbing related subjects from gas to water regulations to energy efficiency. All of which can be completed with Able Skills separately or as part of a plumbing package.

This advanced plumbing course is also available over 2 consecutive weekends if you are unable to attend Monday – Friday due to other ongoing commitments.
