Able Skills Intensive 5 day Tiling Courses
Our tiling courses are designed to give you a good understanding in all areas of tiling whether you are a total beginner or someone who has some knowledge of tiling.
The course is entirely hands on and you will develop tiling skills which will give you the confidence and knowledge to attempt tiling tasks after you have left the Centre.
As a City & Guilds Approved Centre, with Assessors and Internal Verifiers on site, you can be assured that equal training and facilities will be offered to everyone attending all courses.
Weekend Tiling courses :This course can also be covered over 2 consecutive week ends should you have other commitments which prevent you from attending Monday – Friday. Course content remains unaffected by this.
In addition, you can opt to spend a further 5 days with us on our Advanced Tiling Courses. This additional 5 day course will cover more complex areas of tiling.
5 Day Intensive Tiling Courses includes:
- Setting out your tiling work.
- Explaining all the different adhesives used for different surfaces.
- Demonstrating all the tools required.
- Cutting tiles using wet tile cutters, dry tile cutters, tile scribes, tile snips and tile saws.
- Explaining tiling involving Borders, Diamonds and Patterns.
- How to cut around windows and reveals.
- How to cope with tiling difficult areas such as uneven walls.
- How to tile angled ceilings and socket areas.
- How to tile splash-backs.
- How to tile around boxed in pipes.
All aspects of wall and floor tiling will be covered and both kitchen and bathroom tiling will be taught on this course.
You will work in an area equipped with sanitary ware so you will learn how to cut around obstacles such as WCs and pedestals using quality tools such as RUBI cutters. You will also be shown how to grout and finish to a high standard and how to use silicone sealants.
We will cover every aspect of tiling, and feel confident that after spending 5 or 10 days with us you will be ready to tackle everyday tiling requirements. Whether you are planning to do your own bathroom/kitchen or someone else’s, we feel this Tiling course will provide you with the confidence you need.
If you are looking at a career change and want to become a full time Tiler, Able Skills also offers a 3 week tiling package incorporating a City & Guilds Unit Accreditation and 4 week tiling courses. These also cover training for tiling using Natural Stone (slate and marble). Please visit the relevant pages if you are looking for a full package to meet all of your tiling requirements.
At the end of your tiling course you will receive an Able Skills Certificate of completion and you can also have a portfolio and photographs of the stages of the work you have carried out during the period you have trained with us; this may assist you in gaining employment at a later stage.
Able Skills has secured CAA approval and will be offering the Intermediate Construction Award Level 2, Wall and Floor tiling. This will require 6 weeks of training including CSCS card training and exam enabling you to enter the industry immediately.
