Can't find the time to take on electrician courses?

We enjoy teaching students a skill that they can use to secure a career, progress, provide and generally benefit from. But we are also aware that training towards a switch of careers and lifestyle takes commitment, people are busy and committing to a full-time training course is often not an option for somebody with an existing job and a busy life...So, to make sure that we provide opportunities for people we aim to be flexible in our approach and as such we offer alternative training methods for most of our electrician courses! Today we will be looking at what and how these work as well as how to get involved.

Electrician courses

Electrician courses here at Able Skills.

What are the options?

As an example, let's take a look at our City & Guilds Level 2 Electrical Course which is a great starting point for an aspiring electrician looking to work within a commercial and industrial setting. This course is usually completed over 7-weeks, Monday - Friday. However, studying in the week is impossible for some so we offer the ability to instead complete this course an achieve the same qualification over a series of weekends! The access to training on the weekend has proven to be very useful for those who work in the week and aim to eventually make a change of careers.

Another option that we offer is called 'Home-Study' which aims to reduce the total amount of time needed at our facility by giving you the materials needed to learn the theory side in your own time. To start the process, we will send you a level 2 Home Study electrician pack which will hold all of the theory knowledge that you will require in order to achieve the related aspects of this qualification. This study pack has been written by our own instructors and is based around the knowledge requirements of the C&G 2365 handbook. The course will take some time to complete as we encourage students to take between 3-6 months to full comprehend the materials that we provide, when you feel comfortable and confident with your new found knowledge you'll attend the centre for 4-weeks chosen by to during which you will learn the practical side, gain some experience and complete assessments!

How do I become an electrician?

If you seriously want to become an electrician, working out on-site,  within a commercial setting and so on then there is no better option than our Gold Card Approved Electrician Package. This is our biggest package of electrical training and will give you all of the qualifications you need to begin working. Almost every course that we offer from an electrical point of view is included in this comprehensive path to professional work. The course includes; City & Guilds Level 2, City & Guilds Level 3, PAT Testing, Inspection & Testing, 18th Edition and an AM2 Assessment!

Each of these courses are necessary steps in your journey towards a new career as an electrician and each will teach you valuable lessons and skills that you will eventually use on a weekly if not daily basis. Luckily for you, this complete package can actually be taken on a weekend basis! This is a complete route from learning to become an electrician from scratch to working out in the industry so being able to take this entire process on a weekend basis hopefully gives people a great way to secure a lifelong career in the trade.
