Many people will wonder what the next step that is after completing their longer electrical courses as they look to become Electricians. We have the answer for you to achieve more electrical qualifications.

Along the with the City & Guilds Level 2 & 3 Electrical courses, we offer a range of shorter qualification courses that can be completed after the bulk of your training is complete.

Once you complete the level 2 course the next step is usually the 17th Edition and PAT Testing courses before starting the level 3. Both courses are done in one week and are very popular with 17th Edition being a necessary requirement for Electricians. We are currently still awaiting confirmation of as and when the 18th Edition course will be released this year.

We also offer higher level qualifications such as the City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing course that replaced the 2394/2395 course last year. This is a five-day theory course completed in our centre followed by a two-hour online exam. Once the exam is passed and completed the next step is the practical assessments that are completed in a designated assessment area here at Able Skills.

Another higher level qualification we offer is the City & Guilds 2396 Design and Verification of Electrical Installations. This is level 4 award and this qualification helps to develop the essential, up-to-date knowledge and techniques needed to professionally design and install or inspect and test electrical systems. Most students will complete this course once they have finished their NVQ and AM2.

The NVQ and AM2 is the final process of becoming a fully qualified Electrician. With so many students going through the full package with us and ending up at the NVQ and AM2 stage. We have our own AM2 centre here right at Able Skills and our NVQ assessor is very dedicated to getting site visits done for all his students.

If you are interested in becoming Electrician, don’t forget about all the shorter electrical qualifications on offer. Please contact us on 01322 280 202 for more information on how to get started.
