Electrician courses for experienced workers to further their knowledge!

Already working as a professional electrician? If you have a good level of experience working out in the industry as an electrician and you are thinking about achieving a higher level of qualification through electrician courses then our Level 4 Award in the Design and Verification of Electrical Installations could be the perfect option. This course is aimed at electricians with experience across a wide range of electrical installations and with a thorough and detailed grasp of the Wiring Regulations and considerable experience of inspection and testing. This is seen as a more prestigious and difficult qualification by those in the trade - Our version of this course is 5-days and will focus mainly on theory, taught within a classroom setting but with an intensive and progressive development of design procedures, including all the many calculations. Let's take a look at the course in more detail and how to get started...

Experienced Electrician looking to achieve a higher level of qualification?

What will I learn?

During your time on this course here at our centre you will tackle a more advanced look at the electrical processes you already know. The emphasis is on the safe and ergonomic design  and generally the course will give you an insight into understanding the relationship with statutory and non-statutory requirements, gaining a deeper understanding of  the 18th Edition or BS 7671 requirements relating to electrical installation design and topics like being to apply design and verification procedures for single and polyphase electrical installations. The course will be completed by way of a three-hour written exam here in our dedicated assessment room as well as completing a City & Guilds set design project, for which the minimum recommended time is 40-hours. This is carried out in your own time.

If you do book this course with us then we may also consider undertaking a short telephone or personal informal discussion with you to ensure that you are aware of what will be required to achieve this qualification and the time frames involved. Just to ensure that you are qualified and have the underpinning knowledge and experience to tackle this course. We do not want our students to fall behind on any of our training option or to feel overwhelmed by taking a course that they really shouldn't be attempting to complete. Once again, this is a more advanced qualification and candidates have a good, working understanding of Inspection and Testing and the latest edition of the Wiring Regulations.
