Russell had been working in the city for many years, doing the same journey and the same work, day in day out. However, earlier this year he decided it was time for a change and he wanted to have a new career.

Describing his old career as standard 9-5 office job, Russell could not wait to get out and start a career that made him look forward to going to work each day. Russell had started training as an Electrician when he left school, however, it didn’t work out and he took the first job he could in London. He had always wanted to get back into it but always put it off due to various reasons. When 2017 came around he made it his New Years Resolution to get training again as an Electrician.

Having found us at Able Skills he knew it was the place to go. Being local it meant he had an easy journey each morning to our centre. Russell was lucky enough to get onto a course in early January due to a cancellation. Since then he hasn’t looked back…

Starting from the City & Guilds Level 2 Electrical Course, Russell worked his way through all his courses that were included in the Gold Card package he booked. Once he completed all his courses such as the level 2, 17th Edition, level 3 and others, it was time for him to register onto the NVQ.

Russell told us how happy he was with his whole training journey and his NVQ site assessments. He couldn’t praise his tutors and assessors enough for all the hard work they put in to provide lesson plans and make the effort to assess him on-site. He finished with his AM2 which was completed in our Dartford AM2 centre at Able Skills and he has now gained his Gold Card and can happily call himself an Electrician.

We would like to wish Russell the best of luck for the future and we hope to see him again soon!
