Never taken a wiring regulations course before?
If you have never taken a course before on the wiring regulations, you should know the process is straight forward. Our course is entirely classroom based, it introduces wiring regulations and covers their application through explanation and worked examples. Our instructors will focus on where to find the information within the 'blue book' itself.
This is because the exam is 'open book', meaning that you will be able to look up wiring regulations and refer to the 18th edition book during the exam process. The hard part is knowing how to find the right information and their application to the real world.
No electrician is required to know every single regulation within the book, however, our course will get you to industry-standard and help you to understand how to remain safe in the workplace and what regulations mean when it comes to actual installations and how to implement them into your working life.
What will I learn during the 3-day course?
As we said the course is completely theory based. Within a classroom setting you will become familiar with the regulations, their meaning and their location within the book. You will learn; definitions, safety precautions and the content and the application of the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671: 2018 18th Edition Regulations.
The regulations are updated all the time to represent the changes in the industry, technology being used and new ways to keep electrical installations safe for both the installer and the public. Our course reflects that and will go over recent changes from the 17th Edition to now. The course will conclude with a test which is a 2-hour multiple-choice online exam taken within our dedicated exam room.

We also offer a 1-day long 18th Edition Update Course that is highly favoured by our students. If after the 3-days you feel confident that you are ready for the exam then not to worry. However if you would like some more revision time this could be a useful option.
